press release 2-27-2026

-----FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-----

January 6, 2026

Wisconsin United for Freedom Press Release

Wisconsin United for Freedom (WUFF) supports a vaccination framework that puts informed consent, medical transparency, and parental choice at the forefront. Families deserve policies anchored in clear, publicly accessible evidence—not institutional assumptions—so that each parent can decide what’s right for their child without coercion, mandates, or one‑size‑fits‑all directives. We believe any immunization schedule that governs millions of children should be built on fully transparent evidence reviews, including plain‑language disclosures of benefits, limits, and known or potential risks, and should be continually re‑evaluated as new data emerge. That expectation is especially important when advisory bodies revise schedules or clinical guidance.

To rebuild trust, WUFF advocates several practical guardrails for any immunization policy that touches children:

  1. Expanded safety testing of vaccines where they are studied against a true saline placebo.
  2. Independent evidence summaries (separate from agencies that vote on policy) that plainly describe safety signals, study limitations, confidence levels, and remaining uncertainties.
  3. True shared decision‑making for pediatric vaccines. Doctors should be encouraged to listen to their patients and be free to make recommendations for or against vaccination based on their medical training and consultation with their patients. Doctors should not be receiving pressure or coercion from insurance companies, hospital systems, or the government to have high vaccination rates.

In short, WUFF stands firmly with families who want to make vaccination choices without undue pressure. We support health policies that respect bodily autonomy, require clear and complete safety accounting, and ensure that parents, not the government, are the final decision makers for their children. WUFF emphasizes consent, transparency, and accountability, so that every Wisconsin family can make truly informed health decisions.

-----FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-----

January 6, 2026

Wisconsin United for Freedom Press Release

Wisconsin United for Freedom (WUFF) was founded in 2019 in response to legislative attempts to eliminate Wisconsin's personal conviction exemption for childhood immunizations. We successfully advocated to preserve vaccine choice then, and we will do the same again since a similar piece of legislation is currently being circulated by Democrats in our state legislature. As such, we applaud the CDC’s recent overhaul of the childhood immunization schedule, which significantly reduces the number of universally recommended vaccines from 17-18 to 11 diseases. This historic shift aligns the U.S. more closely with peer nations like Denmark, emphasizing parental choice, informed consent, and shared clinical decision-making for additional vaccines such as COVID-19, influenza, rotavirus, and others.

By moving away from one-size-fits-all mandates and recognizing that many vaccines may not be necessary for all children, the CDC is restoring trust in public health and empowering families to make personalized health decisions with their trusted healthcare provider, based on individual risk factors. In the report issued by HHS announcing the changing of the schedule, HHS states, “It is generally considered contrary to basic medical ethics to coerce or require a medical intervention, and informed consent is a cornerstone of medical care in the U.S. and abroad.” All previously recommended vaccines remain fully accessible and covered by insurance, ensuring options without coercion. This approach supports the principles of transparency and parental rights that WUFF has championed through citizen lobbying, public rallies, and educational outreach.

This change represents a long-overdue victory for medical freedom, prioritizing transparency, evidence-based policy, and the fundamental right of parents to direct their children’s healthcare without government overreach.
